Setting function keys on Vinix phones
- Get the ip address from the phone. Menu > Status > IPv4
- Open a web browser and enter the ip address. (the pc and phone MUST be on the same network)
- Enter the username and password
- User: Call support for user
- Password: Call support for password
- Select “Function Key” along the left side
- Along the top section you will use the “Function Key” and “Side Key” tabs
- Function Key tab shows the buttons along the bottom right of the phone
- Side Key shows the top keys on the left side of the screen (this you may not want to mess with unless you know what you are doing)
- The function keys have 12 or 6 buttons (depending on model) you can change, with multiple pages.
- DSS Key type
- Line – Makes the key available to make/receive calls (what you currently see on the Side Keys)
- Memory Key – Used to open a sub-type of key
- Speed Dial – Used for one touch dialing of a number or extension
- Call Park – Used to park a call for others to pick-up. (all users must have the same parking spot on their device)
- BLF – Used to see other extensions status.
- BLF/BXFER – When pressed will transfer your call to that person as a blind transfer
- BLF/AXFER – When Pressed will call the person prior to you sending the call. Assisted/soft/warm transfer
- Name – The name to show on the button
- Value – Extensions, phone number or parking spot
- Line – Tells the device which account to make the call on
- Unless you have multiple accounts, (most do not), line 1 should always be used
